Thank you for responding and will be as specific as I can. On July 17, 1886 a man by the name of JOHN MORRIS who was fireman on a riverboat, may have been a steamboat----drowned that day--I assume in the river. John Morris lived in Clarington, Salem Township of Monroe County OH. Sometimes Morris was spelled Marsh when I found him in the census, but his death listing in the Monroe Co deaths give it as MORRIS I don't know if Clarington had a newspaper during that time period or not, but do know that the Spirit of Democracy was published then. I am hoping there will be an article about this drowning or perhaps an obit. Any assistance you can give will be greatly appreciated. Thank you again. Notify Administrator about this message?
