Davis of Piqua...
Joseph Davis married twice. The first marriage was to Hannah (I THINK Roberts, I could be wrong). This marriage was short lived, I'm not sure why. It produced 2 Children. Edwin, about 1850 and Clara, about 1852. I can find nothing on either of them later.
Joseph's second wife was Elizabeth Mahaffey. Their marriage produced 4 children...Venora,1859; Isaiah, 1861; Francis (Frank), 1866; and Myrtle, 1871.
Venora married John Savage in abt. 1883. I believe they had 3 children...Walter, Florence and Edward. If there are more I have not found them yet.
Isaiah went on to marry Jennie Savage (John's sister)and they had 1 daughter, Edith.
Frank went on to marry 2 of John Savage's sisters. The first one was in 1891, Harriet (Hattie) Savage. Their marriage resulted in only 1 child. A son, Clifford (my ggrandfather). Hattie died in St. Louis in 1913.
Frank married Hatties much younger sister Edith after Hattie died. Their marriage produced 2 children...Beverly and Donald.
Myrtle was the youngest child of Joseph and Elizabeth Davis. I have found nothing that suggests that she ever married.
Does anyone have anymore info to add here? Does any of this sound familiar?
Oh, these families were primarily in the Piqua area until between 1900 and 1910. After that I found John, Nora and their kids, Frank, Hattie and Clifford in St. Louis, Missouri.
Thanks,
Jennifer
