The 1834 Rockville, IN gravestone inscription of a Henry Boos, Sr. says Switzerland.Census records and marriage records indicate that this Henry Boos, Sr. was the father of the Henry Boos who married Elizabeth Blackman in Miami Co, OH.An early researcher (1894) of the Blackman family says that Elizabeth Blackman's husband was of Dutch extraction.I tend to believe the Swiss origin.
I've found Boos, Boose, Booz and Booze of known relatives of my Henry Boos.I suspect that some Bous and Bouse may also be from this family. There is an LDS record with the spelling Boas for a family that is Boos in other records.
