Bessie H. Spencer
Bessie Marie Hairston Spencer, 63, of 130 Laketree Drive, Martinsville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2004, at Memorial Hospital in Martinsville.
She was born in Henry County on Feb. 17, 1941, to George Hairston and Anna Reynolds Hairston. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister, Lucy Wells; and two brothers, Randolph Hairston and Juliet Hairston.
She was a private duty nurse until becoming disabled.
She was a member of the Greater New Light Holiness Church where she was an elder, a member of the choir, a minister?s helper and former secretary of the missionary department. She also was supervisor of the youth department at True Vine Holiness Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Gina Spencer of Martinsville; three brothers, George Hairston and Oscar Hairston, both of Bassett and James Hairston of Massachusetts; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at noon Monday at the Greater New Light Holiness Church, 701 Perdue St., Martinsville, with Bishop Clara Martin officiating. The wake will be held one hour before the service. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Gardens.
The family will be receiving friends at the home of Bishop Clara Martin, 286 Harris St., Martinsville.
Collins Funeral Services in Bassett is in charge of arrangements.

Altho Don & Sharon SNYDER m 4-18-1987 they were living together 1980 in Findlay OH; also at same address...Rudolph M HAIRSTON b 12-23-1958...a bit too old to be a son. Sometimes bdates are way off "US Public Records". A friend was b 1933, and it lists her birth 1956. Another friend was b 1957, and she is listed as b 1901!

Could this be a son.....

HAIRSTON, Donald R. Jr. age 26 of Dayton departed this life on Thursday, March 15, 2007. He was born February 8, 1981 to Donald Hairston, Sr. and Andra West. He is preceded in death by his grandfather, John T. Hairston, and great grandmother Elouise James. Donnie is survived by his loving parents and devoted fiancÚ, Tishema Washam. Four darling daughters: Tatiana, Shatera, Justyce and baby girl Dakota. Three sisters: Aurtia Hairston, Kala West, and Jameta West. Three brothers: Marcus West, Wade Brunson, and Cornelius "Jr" West. Maternal grandmother Edith Cottman and paternal grandmother Geraldine Hairston. Great grandfather, John James. Aunts: Twanda Anderson (Henry), Keturah Cottman (Cavor), Karen Crawford, Aleta Hairston, Gladys Anderson, Angela Dunson, and Joy Glover (Larry). Uncles: Wayne Hairston and Gregory Higgs. Godmothers: Judith Persons and Risa McCray. Special friend: Rodney Hart and a host of other beloved cousins, relatives and many caring friends. Donnie loved his life's journey; he was always willing to help with a smile. He adored his children, deeply in love with his fiancÚ and cherished family. Donnie attended Dayton Public Schools and was enrolled at Sinclair Community College. Funeral services will be held 12:00 noon Wednesday, March 21, 2007 at Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 2067 North Gettysburg Ave. Rev. Dr. Tommy H. Byrd Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Donnie will be laid to rest following the service at Woodland Cemetery, Dayton, OH. Services respectfully rendered by H. H. Roberts. We will always love you and miss you, Donnie
