Kevin, re: death certs and tombstones. The info is only as good as the knowledge of the informant. On DCs the only facts are the deathdate/location. Same holds true on tombstones. I've run across birthdates on tombstones which differ from the DC! I even came across a record where a child was buried a day before she died! So, keep an open mind abt Lucy and Julius.
I don't know how many WWI & WWII Draft Reg. records I've read when the age is a yr off between the 2. The individual is providing his OWN dates, so imagine the scenario when someone else is providing it.
