WHITNEY, Judith G.
June 15, 2007

Judith G. Whitney Of Sausalito entered into final rest June 13, 2007 after a battle with pancreatic cancer. Judy was born in Columbus, OH, reared in Pasadena and lived in the Bay Area for 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents Betty and Leland Garlinghouse, and by her beloved brother, Dr. Leland Garlinghouse, Jr. She is survived by her children Tracy Wacht of Sausalito, Richard Wacht and his wife Shihoko Yabe of San Francisco, and Eric Magnuson of San Diego and his wife and children; her nephew Christopher Garlinghouse; her loving husband Charles S. Bishop, and many treasured friends. She was a graduate of UC Berkeley, and former executive/managing director of several arts organizations in the Bay Area including Donald Pippin's Pocket Opera and the Berkeley Symphony. She loved life and her family, and died with sweetness in her heart and a pure soul. She will always be remembered for her compassion, for her wisdom, her generosity of spirit and her smile. Only the promise of being reunited with her makes going on without her endurable. A private memorial service will be held at a later time.
