OH began keeping vitals 1867. Anything earlier would have to be from a church/bible/tombstone record.

Dennis & Isobel WERE m in Medina Co. An M before the batch # indicates this is a court record. Be wary of all others. If you want a copy of the original you will have to contact Medina Co.

Summit Co was formed 1840 from Portage/Medina/Stark Cos.

1820-30 Norton Twp was in Medina. It's always a good idea to see when a Co [any state] was formed, as records may be in a parent Co.

HISTORY OF SUMMIT CO OH
Grist mill built c 1830....Dennis BATES had volunteered to help put up rafters at the raising of this mill; he fell and was killed, having struck his head on a rock, and crushed his skull.

I can't tell if he is related to Nathan & Lyman BATES of Summit Co.
I notied on the DC of Isabell Electa HATHAWAY, Clark Co WA, her parents are listed as Nathan BATES/Electa BRONSON.
