Edgar Lee MUMFORD was married twice in St. Joseph Co. IN. First to Jessie Opal DITMAN on 10 Apr 1934 and second to Evelyn HENSHAW on 9 Nov 1940.

I don't know what happened to Jessie but she did not remarry in St. Joseph County. Evelyn did remarry in St. Joseph Co. on 8 Mar 1941 to William Gale YANKEE.

When Edgar enlisted for WWII in Toledo on 4 Feb 1943, he said he was divorced with dependents so he must have married and divorced a third time and apparenly was paying support to some wife and his children with her, possibly Jessie or wife #3 but probably not to Eveyln Yankee.

Re Thelma Mumford LAPORTE's husband, he remarried on 24 Dec 1948 in St. Joseph Co. to Josephine HUITT. Try http://www.wtcpl.org for a copy of Thelma's obit.
