Hello...I've been searching the boards and collected paperwork several inches
thick for a friend of mine. He's a Goss fellow who was not raised by the
Goss family. He said they were from Ohio, Pennslylvania and many in
northeastern Ohio. I'm a amateur at this and am drowning in all the Jacobs,
Fredericks, Sebastians, Gass/Goss/Gos.
Thusfar I'm at a standstill with the last Jacob Goss, b. 4.16.1772 in Basel, Switzerland and died in Ohio in 1850. He married Salome Doomy, b. 1770 in
Switzerland in 1796 and had at least 5 children...Jacob, b. 1792; Henry, b.1797;
AnnaMargaret, b. 1803; Martin, b. 1802 & Sebastian born in Switz.
Can anyone help me find the parents of Jacob Goss, b. 1772? I've found some
trees indicating a Jacob Goss, b. 1670 as his father but I question those dates.
Also, are birth certificates available? If so, how would I obtain one?
I thank all in advance for any info you might share and/or refer. I'm more
than willing to continue searching if I'm given the right direction. Right now
I'm just flapping in the winds!
