Eliza SLOAN, James' possible sister-in-law, continued to lived in Taylor Creek through the 1920 census.

1910-
head, Eliza, 76, widow, 11 chn, 8 living, IE IE IE
dau, Margaret E. WILSON, 35, widow, no chn, OH IE IE

1920-
head, Eliza, 85, widow, OH IE IE
dau, Eliza, 63, widow, OH IE OH
dau, Margaret WILSON, 46, widow, OH IE OH
son, George SLOAN, 44, divorced, OH IE OH
(George is indexed as GLEON but it does look like Sloan)

In 1930, George was the only SLOAN in Taylor Creek. He said he was 54, a widow, first md at 25 but this is crossed out.
You may want to check this census as there are several SLOAN households near George.

Also, take a look at http://www.ohiohistory.org/dindex/ for SLOAN deaths in Hardin County.
