Thank you so much for the earlier census info. The 1870 Taylor Creek census has answered my question as whether or not this James Sloan, age 52, (found on next page living with brother Thomas) could be the James Sloan ancestor I am looking for.

He is not, as my James Sloan, age 52, b.PA, is listed in the 1870 census living in McArthur Twp., Logan Co., OH., pg. 142b. family #108. The problem is I could not find a record of him after this census. The LDS marriage records listed a couple of his children that were married in Hardin Co., which lead me to search here!

I had previously checked the sloanconnection website on rootsweb without success in finding his whereabouts after the 1870 census or his date of death.
Thanks again, for your help. Will check the cemeteries in Hardin Co., for a possible lead on his children that married there.
Julia
