There was a family of BARRETTs who came out of VA and settled in Cadiz Township, Harrison Co., OH. Arthur BARRETT (bd 1743 WV) dd1818 OH) was the first of the Barretts to arrive there. Some helpful books on the BARRETTs include Ohio Valley Genealogies Relating Chiefly to Families in Harrison, Belmont and Jefferson Counties, Ohio, and Washington, Westmoreland, and Fayette Counties, PA by Charles A. Hanna. Another book by Charles Hanna is Historical Collections of Harrison Co., OH, Some Marriages of Harrison County. Also a book Land Office of Stuebenville, OH from 1800-1805. At least two of the Barretts married into the SAYRE/SEARS family.
