My reat great grandfather was Thomas Parrott, who was born in Parrottsville, Cocke, CO Tenn in 1798. Hw moved out to Mercer CO, and attempted to co-found a place called Coiltown with his father-in-law Thomas Coil; it failed, and eventually became Mendon.

My great grandfather was Joseph J Parrott, born in Union Township, mendon, Mercer Co. in 1832. He attended Oberlin College until he enlisted in the 88 Ohio Volunteer Infantry in the Civil War. His health failed as a result of his service. He marred Harriet Waters in 1867 and had five kids:

Eber Sherman, Lura Rozelle, John Irving, Effie Estella, and my grandfather Bert R. Parrott who was killed in Salinas, CA in 1934.

The farm failed, and they were forced to move to Battle Crrek, Calhoun County, MI in about 1888.

Any information would be appreciated.
