Hi Jay! Good to hear from you! I'm a descendant of sister Caroline (1841-1925), who stayed behind in Ohio when seemingly everyone else move to Missouri. Caroline married Christian Bauer; one of their daughters, Mary Margaret, married John Adam Westrick; one of their sons, Walter Sylvester, married Elanora Laubenthal; one of their daughters, Marie Helena, married Edwin Thompson -- so here i am. I have the details on Ancestry.com (personal tree); can send an invite so you can compare & correct -- will need email addy for that. Also have some of the info on the family in St. Agnes Cemetery on the Find-a-Grave website; a gent from out that way sent quite a few photos of the family stones, and the rest of the cemetery, if you're interested. Got my Sarcoxie information from the Jasper county librarian, and from the parish secretary for St. Agnes Parish, who just happens to be an Eck. There is also an Eck family just across the Missouri River from me, in St. Charles county -- sent them a note, haven't gotten any response. Will have to give them a ring. There are some Seifert/Siefert burials in the Sacred Heart Catholic Church cemetery, in New Bavaria Ohio. That's just south of Holgate, and south-east of Defiance, where Catharine and Valentine were married. Not sure what, if any, connection these are. Supposedly, the Siefert family came through Medina and (possibly) Columbiana counties Ohio, before they got to Defiance. Have posted to those county boards, in hope of any info. Also trying to find them on the immigrant record sites, unsuccessfully so far. And there you have it! Will send along anything i have, that you can't get off Ancestry.
