Patrick Devlin, 1880 Census

I am looking for information on Patrick Devlin. He was born in Kilwinning, Ayr, Scotland on September 13, 1860. His parents were John and Jane (Hood) Devlin. John Devlin died in January of 1875 and Jane Devlin married a James Gordon in November of 1875. Jane had 7 children by John Devlin, and 2 children with James Gordon. I have found this family with Patrick Devlin in it up to the 1880 Census and after that Patrick seems to have disappeared. James Gordon and Jane left Ohio with the 3 youngest children and went to Nanaimo, Canada. I have been able to trace all of the family except for Patrick Devlin. Does anyone know what happened to him?
