James C. Johnson, Medina, speaker, house of Representatives
Hi--I'm trying to connect james C. Johnson, an attorney who practiced in Seville Village in the 1850s and represented Medina County as the speaker of the ohio house in or around 1851, with a James Crabtree Johnson, brother to a Thomas Stanley Johnson who was an attorney and Probate Judge in nearby Wooster in the late 1850s.Judge Johnson was married to a Holbrook.
I believe your James C. the speaker was born around 1818 and died in 1912, and that his parents were Daniel Johnson and Elizabeth Crabtree. In addition to the brother Thomas, there may have been a sister Harriett. I have a picture showing my james Crabtree Johnson in what was probably the early to late 1880s, though it could have been somewhat later.Any information could help solve a decades old and very vexing family mystery.Thanks.John U.
