STRAUB & MILLER, b. PA, m. Marion Co., early 1800s

Seeking parents of the Elizabeth MILLER (b. 1808/9, PA) and Joseph STRAUB (b. 1800/1, PA) who married on 19 Aug 1825 in Marion Co., OH.

Joseph & Elizabeth were in the 1830 Census of Marion Co., OH, then the 1840/50/60 censuses of De Kalb Co., IN. Joseph died in 1860, but Elizabeth lived on. In the 1870 Census, she is living with her son, Simon Peter STRAUB; and in the 1880 Census, she is living with her daughter, Barbara Elizabeth (STRAUB) BASSETT, still in De Kalb Co. in both cases. Elizabeth (MILLER) STRAUB died in 1881 in De Kalb Co., IN.

In the 1840 Census, Joseph & Elizabeth were living next door to a John MILLER (b. 1800-1810, with wife and four children). In the 1870 census, there is a ten-year-old Isabell MILLER in the household.

More details and sources at this web page:

Joseph STRAUB had a brother, Samuel STRAUB, who may have been the Samuel "STOUT" who married Hannah MILLER on 13 July 1826 in Marion Co., OH. I lose track of them after the 1830 census in Marion Co.
