Hi - I went to school in Marion during the 1940's and 1950's. At that time there were 12 elementary schools, 3 jr. high schools and one high school. This didn't include the two Catholic schools, one for younger grades and the other for older. Do you know the missing person's age? I have high school year books for the years 1956, 1957 qnd 1958. Looking for Van Buren St. on my map of Marion, it looks like she would probably have gone to Greenwood Elementary. I'm not sure, but I think the school that served at that time as a junior high for that area was named State St. Junior High. And if she went to high school in Marion it would have been to Harding High School.
I live in California now, but I'll try to help further if you can give me more info. Good Luck. - Charles Ziegler
