Friend in the chat room supplied me with details from the 1930 ccensus, for 3rd ward, block 106, in respect of the family consisting of:
James Docherty age 27 age at marriage 23 born Scotland
Florence (wife)age 24 age at marriage 20 born Pennsylvania
Jean (dau) age 3 born Ohio
James (son) age 1 born Ohio
a clue to wife might be that a bro in law and sis in law are resident there too, but I Cant decipher their names.
Trying to determine the fate of this family and establish if any descendants from the children who might be able to confirm that James Docherty is the right one for my family tree. I had one relative born as Angus Docherty in Scotland, but know that he used the names James Docherty and James O'Grady during his lifetime. He was a resident in Grand Rapids, Michigan about 1930 (as James Docherty) and later in Los Angeles, California as James O'Grady. He died 1943 in Rochester, Minnesota, and was buried in Alton, Illinois alongside his parents, Thomas Docherty and Agnes Docherty, nee Lyons.
Guidance as to where sources of information are available in Ohio would be appreciated.
