I understand that births and deaths prior to 1909 are in the Probate Records. Is there an index for these records in Mahoning County?
I have a Joseph Mountz living with his daughter, Alma (or Elma) and husband, Stephen A. Renkenberger and their son, LeRoy J. (age 17) on a farm in Berlin Township. This census has personal information on month and year of births so it shows Joseph Mountz born Nov 1827 in Ohio and his father's birth in Pennsylvania and mother's birth in Maryland. I find the daughter and her husband on the 1910 Census but no one is living with them. Their son LeRoy is married and I found him with two children. I cannot find Joseph and since he was 72 years old in 1900, I'm assuming that he has died prior to this 1910 census.
Can someone help me find a death date for this Joseph?
