Cindy,
I have a John Warner, b. 8 MAR 1799, (prob.) PA; son of Israel Warner and Eva B. Musser. Israel is 1774-1857 and Eva is 1774-1862. Eva is daughter of Peter Musser. Peter Musser and Israel Warner are two of the first settlers in Springfield Twp., OH and Petersburg is named after Peter Musser.

This is probably your John Warner.

John would be my 3rd great grand uncle. His brother George Warner is my direct line.

I don't show a wife for him in my files. The only Maurer I have is Amelia Jane Maurer, b. 21 NOV 1850 in Barberton, Summit Co., OH, d. 3 MAY 1923. She married Reuben Lipp, b. 28 JAN 1843 in Petersburg, Springfield Twp., OH, d. 8 FEB 1936 in Pawnee City, Pawnee Co., Neb.

There is a John Maurer, Sr., b. 16 AUG 1778, d. 23 MAR 1828 and a Barbara Maurer, wife of John, b. 21 FEB 1781, d. 31 JUL 1859 at 78y5m10d buried in the Old Springfield Cemetery on State Route 170 between Petersburg and New Middletown. It looks like there are about a dozen Maurers buried in Springfield Twp.

I hope this helps and if you have anything on John Warner and his descendancy, I would love to have it.

Regards,

Jim
