town of "Smith" in Mahoning Co. ??

Hi. I am researching members of my McKee line that settled briefly in Mahoning County, beginning about 1867. John M. McKee and his second wife, Eliza Jane, bought land in "the town of Smith", in part of section 26 in township 18, range 5, purchased from Mahlon and Sarah Ann Hartley. Is this in Smith or Goshen Twp. They were enumerated in Goshen Twp. in the 1870 census. Thanks for any clues.
