Yes, this is the family I am looking for. I think it may be the family of my G.Grandmother Jane Dunn Rickabaugh Benson, because on the 1850 Census it appears this family was living in Ross County, Ohio, and the first child listed is Jane, eight years old, listed with Walter 7, Ann 6, Thomas 4, Edwin 2 and Gertrude l/2 yrs. I could not find them on the 1860 Census, but Jane is in Mercer County, Illinois on the 1860 Census with her husband Lewis Rickabaugh and one child. I know that Jane was not of legal age when she married, October 2, 1857 in Mercer County, Illinois, because an Isaac Dunn gave an affidavit that he was acquainted with the parents of Miss Sarepta Jane Dunn and they were agreeable to her marriage to Mr. Rickabaugh. (If this is the Jane I am looking for she would have been only fifteen years old at that time.) On the 1870 Census, it appears to be the same family, with the addition of three more children, but Jane and Edwin are missing.
If you think this is same family, I am very interested in further correspondence. My E-Mail address is firstname.lastname@example.org.
