Hi Jean, That is great news. Is the cemetery you are referring to actually the Correll cemetery or just near it in a family style plot?

I have never seen John's name with a middle name used so I'm not sure if he could have been a John Crawford Stroup or not.

From what I can gather he was from Mifflin County PA.

My cousin says that when she was researching in early 80's they were told John was burried in cemetery at the rear of Maxey Schoolhouse according to a 1924 cemetery inscription. She never could find any graves and felt it may have been overrun when they tore down the school. Do you think saying the rear of Maxey Schoolhouse fits the discription of the physical location of the 3 person grave you are talking about or do you think it is a different gravesite entirely? I am thinking about coming up sometime this week or next to look aaround. I really appreciate your help Jean, Thanks!
