Clay
I reread your message and is the name John Crawford Stroup?

On the 1862 map it shows David Stroup owning the land on the north side of Linson Rd which might include the area of Maxey school. The school is no longer there. there was a plan to build a town called Hardscrabble where the Maxeys lived but only a few houses were built.
Iam wondering how much of the Linson land if any belonged to John Stroup. I will see if I can get a copy of his will and do a land search. I will also check and see if Peter Bufenbarger was ARW.
my info on John and Mary came from a descendant of David and Mary Ray Stroup
Jean
