Hi Stan,
I do not have the 1840 census records for Robert but the Guy family settled Monroe Twp. came to Ohio from Vt. about 1812. family tradition is during rev. war that Guy was in British army and deserted to fight with the Americans. I do not have the Guy cemetery records at home but can look up Robert when I go next week to the London Public Library.
James Guy b.11-14-1779 Vt married Mary Watts. settled Union twp 1812 then Monroe twp 1826
1850 Robert Guy was Justice of Peace in Pike twp. part of Monroe became Pike twp. Guy cemetery in Pike twp.
also Cohen or Cohn ,Cowen families in Madison co
