Moses Pippitt was a early settler of New Hampton(West Jefferson) there is a old cemetery there. I will check on burial there. These early settlers came from New Jersey. A few years after their marriage the Sextons, Jones(Sextons son-in-laws family ) returned to New Jersey. Elizabeth and Samuel were m. Nov 13, 1828. Samuel and the others came to Madison around 1818. They plotted the town of New Hampton. This was on the National Road and became a stopping place for travelers. The Red Brick Tavern and The Anderson House are still in use today. One as a private home and the other as a resturant. My family helped build these buildings and were also early settlers. Their name is Seaman, Simmons and
sometimes spelled Symmonds.
Hope this helps you and I will add Moses to my list of things to do.
