Where are probate records for 1839?

Anyone have an idea where I can find the records involved in the settling of the estate of George W. Simpkins in 1839? I have a case no. from a microfiche listing the Wills & Probate Records of Ohio. Geo. W. Simpkins is listed in Madison Co in 1839. There are a lot of records from Madison Co on microfilm, but I've been unable to locate this particular item. Were some early records taken to a central library? Could the case no. just refer to the sale of his land by his heirs? (I've found these records, but can't see any no. correlating to the purported case no.) Any ideas would be appreciated!
