Joshua W Cummins - Amy Anne Pierce

I am researching Joshua W Cummins, born 1837 Delaware County, and Amy Ann (known as Annie) Pierce, born 1837, unknown.

Joshua and Annie were in Swanton Twp, in the 1860 census, living with their three children, Hosea B, Simeon J and Susan. They also had Joshua's mother Susan and a boader living with them.

They had two more sons, Clark and Ralph, before Annie died. The next time I have found Joshua, he is living in Nebraska with his two youngest sons, and an adopted daughter, Carrie. His Civil War pension file has an affadavit that his first wife died, but gives no dates.

Am searching for any information on Susan Cummins the daughter and info on Annie's death or burial. The youngest son was born in Aug 1865, and Joshua was in Maryland with the Ohio 196th. He did not receive a pension because it states that he left the service a month before it was mustered out in September. My hunch is that Annie might have died in childbirth, causing Joshua to head for home to take care of the other four.

If anyone has any information on these names or has some suggestions for where to go to for Lucas county records from this time, I'd be very grateful. Will also share info I have on rest of family and Joshua's ancestors back to 1601 in England.
