When Alphonso died, he was hunting with H. C. and Edward Keller, William Apple and D. H. McLees. The day he died was the second day of the pheasant and rabbit hunting season.
His obit says he lived in Toledo 30 years and he is listed in the 1920 census, however, he was then 26, single and a roomer in the Niemeyer household on Eggeman Avenue.
In 1930, Alphonso was 36 and newly married (at 36) to Mary S. who was then 20. They rented at 1006 Sylvania. Whether this Mary was Sr. Mary Dominic's mother is unknown.
Yes, I check the various Toledo newspapers at the library. The "Blade" is online at http://www.toledoblade.com but their obit archives only go back to August 2000.
