Charles Thompson, 55, of 355 South Detroit Avenue, a shipping clerk at the Gendron Wheel Co. plant more than 30 years, died in his home last night after a brief illness.
Born in Toledo, Mr. Thompson was a member of St. Lucas' Lutheran Church and of the church Council and Brotherhood.
He is survived by his wife, Frieda; sons, Victor and James; daughter Betty, and half-brother Randolph Thompson.
The body will be in the H. H. Birkenkamp Mortuary until Wednesday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Marvin Bielken, pastor, will officiate at services in St. Lucas Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.

Gustave Noethen, 81, of 545 South Detroit Ave., a lifelong resident of Toledo, died Saturday in his home after a week's illness.
Surviving are his wife, Minnie Bremer Noethen; sons, Herbert and Walter, Toledo and Fred, Detroit; and a daughter, Mrs. Frieda Thompson, Toledo. He was a member of St. Lucas Lutheran Church.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. in the H. H. Birkenkamp Mortuary with Dr. Dallas Green, pastor of First English Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery.
