Myrtle McGowan, John Blackman or Brockman and their daughter..

I have a newspaper clipping dated 1905 telling of a visit...

"Mr & Mrs BROCKMAN and baby visited her grandmother....."

Myrtle died about 1907 and the death record gives her surname as BLACKMAN not BROCKMAN.... Myrtle is buried in the McGowan family plot in Toledo, Ohio under the McGowan family name. The baby supposedly was named Hermaine, Ermaine or however it should have been spelled.

I cannot find John under either spelling and no child with that name either. Supposedly she moved to Calif. as an adult after marrying (supposedly a doctor) but cannot prove that either. Don't know married name if so.

Elderly family member repeats same story. I know Mercedes (Lotge) Baldinger moved to Calif. perhaps elderly family member has this backwards so need any help out there.
