There was an ULMER family in Toledo in 1880 and they had a son, John 20 years old. The family consisted of:
head, Mathias, 56, Ger, Ger, Ger, RR watchman
wife, Margret, 51, Ger, Ger, Ger
son, John, 20, OH,
son, George, 16, OH
dau, Mary, 14, OH
dau, Maggie, 9, OH
son, William, 7, OH

In the 1920 Toledo census, a John ULMER, age 59, lived at 3038 Chase street but his wife's name was Mary E. who was then 57. The census shows he was born in OH and she in MI.

Also in that census was a George ULMER, 56. who may have been John's next youngest brother. He was married to Catherine, 57, OH and they lived at 1522 (now North) Erie street. John and George both worked on the railroad, as did Mathias.

I am reasonably sure that George died 4 Nov 1923 and Mary on 2 Oct 1927. Possibly, John M. ULMER died 29 Oct 1935. All these ULMERs died in Lucas County.
