Bill, you have the right person! I just checked your message history and it seems that you have helped numerous people in the past. What a kind man you are and very helpful and generous of your time. Thank you so much for all your time and trouble.

I have a question for you since you're experienced with the Lucas County records. I recently found out that my great-grandfather, Alexander Thompson, was a counterfeiter of half-dollars and dimes and was caught back in 1898. He lived in Paulding County, Ohio but was caught and was going to be tried by the Lucas County authorities. He was caught, along with his brother-in-law, Henry Luce. We found that Henry Luce was given a year in the penitentiary, but we haven't found any records on Alexander's punishment. Do you know if Lucas County has old court records from that time period?

I'm glad to say that my Dad was a police officer and never knew his Thompson relatives, so it's good that he didn't take after his grandfather, Alexander!

Thanks again! Sharon
