In June 1832, preliminary plans were made to build a town in Vistula or Port Lawrence in Lucas County and Toledo became the town in which those townships were located. I am fairly sure that Toledo didn't exist until 1833-34.
The 1840 OH census shows an Elisha STILWELL as living in Port Lawrence in Lucas County. The household consisted of 1 white male 70-79, 1 white female 10-14 and 1 age 50-59. In the 1850 Ohio census there are numerous Mary STILWELLs listed. None are in Lucas Co. but one, age 12, was in Williams County, two counties west of Lucas.
There were no newspapers in Toledo until 1835 and there are no Toledo city directories (on film) until 1853. Births weren't recorded until 1867 and if Mary had a death cert she must have died after 1908.
