Hi Mary:

Do you have any other information on this couple, such as place (state) of birth, date of birth, or childrens' names? There is no John Dowdell with Mary (wife) in 1900 or 1910 in Lorain County.

In 1910, there is a John Dowdell with wife Mary T in Miami, Clermont County, Ohio. This couple were in Branch Hill, Clermont County, Ohio, with John age 42 born VA and Mary age 37 b. Ohio. Both sets of their parents were b. England.

There are a number of Dowdells, and without further information, this is about the closest match.
