Reasearch Trip to Lorain County

Finally, I am going to make a trip to Lorain County to research my Manning Ware and his mother-in-law Polly Maynard Manly. I am making this trip into a two or three day research adventure.
I want to ask advice as to where to go first to research. I am leaning toward the Historical Society and then the Court House. I am hoping to research newspapers also.
My Manning Ware died in 1880 and is buried in Camden Twp. Cemetery. Polly Manly was alive in 1880 (85 years old) and living in Amherst. I don't have a date of death for Polly.
Any suggestions about would be welcomed. (Resturants, Motels, Hotels, interesting sites.)
Uncle Charles used to live on Boston Ave. We visited his family many times, but over 50 years ago. I did attend my cousin's husband's funeral this year in Elyria, but went to the church and then to the cemetery and then home. So I am not too familiar with the present day Elyria.
Any suggestions will be welcomed.
Jim
