Michael , most interesting what you sent---I do thank you for your time and reply--have done some research and still wondering what the first name might have been of the De Graff town was named
for ? Beleive my 4x great grandfaher Daniel ( GRASS named used later on in 1800's ) ---marriage license issued in Ohio County 1800 to Jane Smeathers/Smothers and name spelled Grafs--looks like he was first white man to file legal land claim in what is now Spencer County Indiana--cabin built in Rockport on Ohio River--I CAN find nothing on his parents and think he might have used the De Graff spelling between 1774-1800 ? Parents thought to have been killed by Indians---appreciate your reply ---Dick
