My mother-in-law tells a story of living just up the road from a lady she knew only as Miss Froggy. She never knew her real name. This would have been a few miles north of Bristle Ridge. Miss Froggy owned the house where her parents lived. This would have been around 1923. Miss Froggy lived in another house where there was a cider mill. She would have a cider making day and neighbors would gather there, sometimes bringing their own apples, and help her make the cider she sold. Then they could press their own apples for free. It was quite an event, and people brought picnic baskets and sat around on the ground eating and washing down the food with fresh squeezed apple cider. Would anyone know this ladies real name and exactly where the mill was?
