I am searching for my ancestors Henry Switzer and his wife Emily/Emila/Emilia/Amelia Dillenbaugh/Dellenbough/Dallenbach. The book "Ohio County Records, Fairfield County Bible and Family Records, Marriage Records 1803-1865, and Tombstone Inscriptions" lists their marriage as follows: 7 July 1818: Henry Switzer m. Emilia Dillenbaugh by Michael J. Steck, M.G. I have a photocopy of the actual marriage record, but it is so small that I cannot make out the words or the spelling of their names. The data in the 'Ye Ancient Swains' section on the website www.fairfieldgenealogy.com lists this same marriage as follows: Dillenbaugh, Amelia - Hervey Switzer - Jul 1818 This couple had the following children, all presumably born in Fairfield County, Ohio: Elizabeth, b. ca. 1820, may have m. Nicholas G. Messerly. Samuel, b. ca. 1823 Henry, d. bef. 1849, had a daughter Sarah Almeda Switzer. Jacob, b. ca. 1828? John, b. 25 Apr 1828, m. Louisa Dresbach. Sarah Ann, b. ca. 1836 The family was not located on the 1820 census enumeration, but was listed in Liberty Township, Fairfield Co., OH in 1830 and also in 1840. Henry's will was written 22 Feb 1849 and probated 18 Jun 1849. He therefore died sometime between these two dates. In his will, Henry mentions his 'present wife' Elizabeth Brindle. I believe her to be the widow of a certain William Brindle who was found enumerated in Liberty Township in 1830 and 1840, but who was not found in 1850. I believe that William Brindle and Emily (Dallenbach) Switzer both died between 1840 and 1849, and that widower Henry Switzer married the widow Elizabeth (-----) Brindle, but this has not yet been proved. I believe that Emily/Amelia may have been related to David Dellenbaugh and his wife Rebecca Beighler of Licking County. This family was likely the one enumerated in the 1830 census in Lima Township and in 1840 in Etna Township. By 1850, the father had presumably passed away as Rebecca, Samuel, and Louisa were all listed in Etna Township. Does anyone have any other information on this family? Thanks!
