Actually, after posting that message I got busy last night and started going through the censuses and I found a lot of the people we've been discussing. In 1850 I find Leroy Lemert and family just a couple of pages from William Brown, Minerva and family in Perry Twp. Then some pages later are James E Seward (J E) and Harriet [do you know her maiden name?]and 4 year old John Fletcher Seward. And the next page has Abner Lemert and his family.
Anyway I figured out that you'd accidentally put Lemert where you should have but Brown when I combined all the messages and compared them to the census records.
I also found John and Frances Seward in 1870 without children and in 1880 with Ira and Hattie.
Now my cousin Janice Seward still lives in the big house I mentioned earlier. I'm gathering this data mostly for her benefit at this point since I don't really need most of it for my study of Dardinger relations. Still, a connection with George Washington is worth knowing about.
Now if I've got this straight, Janice would be a 3ggranddaughter of Lewis Lemert, Jr. and Elizabeth through Minerva rather than through Leroy as you are. I know Aunt Gladys had done some genealogical study, but I don't know what all she knew on the Seward side. Perhaps she had all this recorded. I know a lot of her information was damaged or destroyed through bad storage, but I'll check with a cousin who received at least some stuff from the Dardinger side and see if she got Seward stuff too. But I'll check with Janice and see if she know about any of it.
