owen mc cabe was my 4x greatgrandfather. he was born in the county of tyrone, ireland. he came to america with his brother robert. i think that this robert was the grandfather of bishop(chaplin) charlie mc cabe. Owen married catharine sears. thier children: James, John, Robert(different than above), william, mary. the later robert(son of owen mc cabe & catharine sears) married polly mc cracken(daughter of alexander mc cracken). their children: hannah, robert, sally, polly, jacob, patience, lorenzo dow, julian, william, john wesley. my 2x greatgrandfather was lorenzo dow mc cabe, methodist minister and educator at ohio wesleyan university. my greatgrandfather john jay mc cabe was a methodist church planter and educator. emma eugenia mc cabe was my grandmother. Mr. Roach B. McCabe wrote a letter d. 14sept.1898..."In regard to the western McCabe's (that is the Bishop"s family) it was my father's belief that that wing of the family sprung from his uncle Robert, who early left this state (Pa.) for the west and all tract of him was lost."
