Bolen-Turman-Monroe Licking Co Oh 1909

I have an old family reunion photograph taken in Licking County, Ohio, in 1909. The family members that I can clearly identify are my grandfather, Herbert W. Griffith, his parents John William Griffith and Zelma Frances Monroe Griffith,(who was the daughter of John and Mary Rebecca Turman Monroe) several of Zelma's sisters and their spouses, including Daisy Maud Monroe Hughes and her husband Delno Columbus Hughes, Mary Hester Palmer, etc.... Children pictured include Monnadel, Jay and Everett Hughes; Beatrice, Grace, Warner and Emerson Palmer, etc....

In addition there are "Bolen"'s identified on this photo, that I cannot yet place or link to the family. They are identified as George R. Bolen (in this photo taken in 1909 he appears quite elderly, with a long rough white beard, and a large robust man identified as Emerson Bolen. Emerson is standing next to a woman who appears to be an older version of Zelma Frances Monroe Griffith and her sisters.

At the LDS site I found an IGI indicating that a George R. Bolen married Mary F. Monroe.

In 1880 in Hanover Township, Licking Co, Ohio, the census lists a household headed by 59 year old farmer (born in Va) George R. Bolen, his 47 year old wife Mary F, also born in Va, and their children- 17 year old Edward, 12 year old ALbert, 10 year old George W., 8 year old Mary or May, 6 year old Emerson, and 3 year old- perhaps Celia?

If any of these names are familiar, I am seeking more information on the Bolen family and how they relate to my line. I would be happy to scan and send a copy of this photo to anyone who is interested.

Please respond here, or to my e-mail at
