Old Sixth St Cemetery, Newark

Some tombstones from the Old Sixth Street Cemetery have been published from time to time, but are apparently from a reading of the tombstones in 1877 when the oldest ones should still have been fairly legible? However, the two or three of particular interest to me have ages of the deceased that don't seem correct. They were for burials in 1816 -1821 so would have been quite old markers. Does anyone have experience with these early tombstones? How accurate are the earlier readings?
