I see two Mary J(ane) Evans b about 1840 and with parents John and Elizabeth. One who was b 1839 is a somewhat distant relative of mine but has the disadvantage of having died in 1855 according to the sketchy info I have about her. (Of course it's possible the DOD is wrong).

The second is probably the one you want. I show her b 1842. She's shown as 8 in 1850 and 18 in 1860. She has siblings, Lorenzo, Abner, Nathan, William, Harrison & Nancy. Depending on what census you believe her parents were b OH, VT or even NY (for Elizabeth from Abner's 1880c.) Does this sound like the right family? If not, can you post a bit more information, such as exactly where these 1850 and 1860 censuses were from?

Anyway reply here or to my email and we can discuss this further.
