The parents of Jackson P. Thompson are Joseph Thompson and Melvina Rawlins.

In the 1860 census of Decatur Twp., Lawrence Co., Jackson is listed as age 21, and so is a brother named Jefferson.
May be twins or just born very close together. Other siblings are George age 23, Joseph age 20, Sarah W. age 16, William age 14 (my gggrandfather), Clarinda age 13, Henderson L. age 11, Philora age 9 and Laura Alice (question here on name) age 9/12.

I may have MC of Jackson P. and Martha McHenry. If you are interested, let me know. I have many, many MC from Thompson's in Lawrence Co.

Of above children, George W. m. Mary Lambert, Jefferson m. Eliza Cook, William m. Elizabeth Ashmore, Clarinda m. Thomas Ashmore. Many Thompson's of this line moved to Jackson County. Have more info on their mother Melvina Rawlins Thompson. If you have access, and would like to look at the census, it is Roll 997, bk. 1, pg. 273b.

If you have any info on these Thompson's, I would love to hear it.

K Harris
