The best place for researching is Briggs Lawrence Co. Public Library. It has just about anything that you can think of.They have the deed indexes from the beginning of the county through 1899.(The deeds are on microfilm, for over the first half of the indexes.)Early birth records and death records were copied from the courthouse as well and are at the library.Census, wills, marriages, and cemetery inscriptions are there, too.The employees in the genealogy room are fantastic help and the ladies that operate the Lawrence Register link at www.lawrencecountyohio.com are a great source of info, too.
