Mary F Ensley (Brannen) Info
Posted by: Charles Brannen (ID *****4865) Date: January 25, 2004 at 16:33:07

I am doing family research and would like to request anyone having information about Mary F Ensley b. 1/17/1847 Belmont County, Ohio to contact me. She was married to my great grandfather, William H Brannen in 1864 in Appanoose County Iowa.

They had several children to the best I can tell all of which were born in Ohio, not Iowa as previously thought. I have been unable to find any record past 1880 census showing 3 of them Thomas, Burt and Maud. I do have information on the other 3 that lived past birth, Iona, James and Annie. I also know that Annie's twin sister died at birth. Even information listed in some of the family obits have been shown listing James and Annie as being born in Iowa but I have seen the Belmont Co. Ohio births and they were born in Ohio.

I would also like to know if anyone knows of an Ensley or Enslow family cemetery in Belmont County area. I have traced her parents to Guyan Township, Gallia County, Ohio and even know where her father's grave is, Lawrence Chapel Cemetery in Lawrence Co. Ohio, just across the Gallia County line. Anyone who might have information about her or William Brannen, please contact me.

Thank You,
Charlie Brannen
