I am trying to trace a Bates family that was in Perry Twp for many years. This would be Ethalinda Bates born ca 1825 NY who married Sareal Robbins ca 1843 in Lake Co. In 1850 they were in MI, with a couple little children b. Oh., Stillman and Mary. They also had a son Hubert Lyman. However by 1870, Ethalinda was back in Perry Twp with no husband and no ch., living with her sister Sarah Bates b.9 Sept 1831 NY who m. Jehial Hurlburt. Ethalinda was also in the 1880 census with her sister and her sisters family. Then she disappeared! I have not found a marraige record, a cemetery record or a census record for her after 1880. I would like to find more info about her through her sister Sarah. Sarah Bates Hurlburt d. 29 Mar. 1915 in Painesville. I have heard that the parents of these sisters were a Philip or Smith Bates and Mary Lordy. Ethalinda and Sarah were supposed to have had many siblings. However, I have not located either the parents or the siblings. I would be very grateful for any help on locating my missing family. Thank you very much.
