There is nothing listed in the Marriage book for Alfred Carnes or Mary Catherine Spencer I looked for variant speelings also. You should try the surrounding counties, Have you found them on census records? If so, check in the county closest to where they are living in 1860.

Knox county cemetery records vol. 1 pg 222 Rich Hill cem.
Charlotte VanSickle b. 1820 d. 1888

There is nothing listed in the death records of Knox for her, or the others asked about.

In the birth records, there is a child born to Amos VanSickle and Josie Phillips-- Edwin born 01 September 1902 in Hilliar twp.
There are also two children born to Columbus VanSickle and Louisa E. DeBolt-- Charles 04 sep 1872 Milford twp., and Martha A. 09 November 1881 Hilliar twp.

1880 census Hamburg, Calhoun co., Illinois

Alfred CARNES M Male 57 OH Farmer
Mary CARNES M Female 46 OH Keeps House
John CARNES S Male 16 IL At Home
Sarah CARNES S Female 13 IL At Home
Cyrus CARNES S Male 10 IL At Home
Ida CARNES S Female 7 IL
Harris CARNES S Male 4 IL

Charlotte is on the 1880 census with her son Amos and a sister in law Maragaret, living in William, Knox co., Ohio she was born in Ohio as well as both of her parents.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
